Don Smith, Senior Vice President

Don Smith is Senior Vice President for The DVS Group.  He is considered to be one of the most experienced dealmakers in the country with more than 500 combined transactions in a 25+ year M&A career.  Don's business acquisition background includes more than 18 years of Colorado-based business sale experience, much of it as owner of Peak Business Brokers.  Don has also worked for a national valuation/M&A firm based in Southern California, for the wine industry's leading investment banking firm in Napa Valley, for a St. Louis-based investment banking firm and has been a consultant to other investment banking firms and business brokers.

Don is a Certified Business Intermediary (CBI), holds a Series 7 and Series 63 Securities Licenses and he is a Managing Real Estate Broker.  Don's background outside of the mergers and acquisitions field includes owning a wholesale distribution firm and working in the field of economic development.  He also served in various management positions with a marketing research firm and with a consumer catalog/direct mail company.  

Don's holds a Bachelors Degree in Agricultural Economics from the University of Missouri and has completed post-graduate work at University of Missouri (St. Louis), University of Illinois and St. Louis University.  He is a long-time member of the International Business Brokers Association and has served on various industry and non-profit boards.
